Historic DBR Carrier Telephone Line

World War 2 emergency defense backup route long distance communication system of J Carrier variety. Later converted to O Carrier for civilian use. Was specifically constructed as an inland major communications link in the event that the West Coast was attacked by the Japanese. It started in Washington state and ended in Los Angeles, California. Only 15 miles left standing shown in the photographs. Line is in very bad shape and ultimately will have to be removed.

Bell Telephone Outside Plant TD2 Microwave Antenae

Historic obsolete multiplex microwave communication system for Bell Telephone built by Western Electric. Carried television broadcasts, multi-channel long distance telephone message circuits, military autovon circuits. Transcontinental system repeater spacing 30 miles. Total system capacity 10,500 telephone channels.
